Spock Rocks!!!

This is brilliant, Kevin showed me the Video, and I really think it is brilliant! Well, I do believe I need to work on my writing, and not repeat words, because I want to be brilliant. Check out this brilliant video. *Walks away and shrugs*….

I normally do things that have to be done pretty quick (paying bills, keeping appointments, being on time, yes, I am a responsible person). I would like to Emphasize on the word have to be done in a time of matter or else. Other than that I am wonderful to push it away and ignore it until it weighs down so bad on me that I dream about it. Tax season…. need I say more ….. well not only do I have to file my Swiss taxes.. no, of course not, I have to file US Federal Taxes. Why? Beats me…. Why do I have to file taxes in a country that I do not live in, do not earn money, do not benefit for anything….. but yes, I have to do that.

What is the problem you wonder? Well, almost one year ago I got married, to a Canadian, yes you know him, it’s Kevin, (that was beside the point and no, he is not a problem) anyways, my name changed. So now, I have to change my social security card, my passport, my IRA account all kinds of stuff, and I better do that before my US Tax is filed or else the IRS get’s confused and does not know what to do with my Tax return. So I took the day off (yes, I put this all off until now when I NEED to actually do it) to sort things, try to find documents that prove my name change, and all that wonderful stuff. I got up early, sitting in my sweats, over heaps of paperwork waiting for the US Embassy to open (they have really weird hours….) to make sure I have the right documents to present for all these changes. I tried over and over, listening to the same silly message again and again, that at the end, directed me to the darn website that does NOT answer my questions, just to hear at the end of the call: THE US Citizens Services Department is not currently available…..GOODBYE! *CLICK*

Finally this afternoon at 2:00 pm I got a person that I could actually speak to. I asked her about the documents and what I needed to bring exactly, and if so and so form was sufficient. Here is the answer and imagine the most annoying bored nasal voice in your mind: “Well just bring anything you have and we will see if it is sufficient, it depends on whomever handles it to say if we need more proof, our office hours are from 9:00 am to 11:00 am, thank you for calling.” Hmmmmm???? I have to drive 2 hours to go to Bern, and if they decide the documents I have are not what they currently want, I have to make another trip!

So yes, I strayed from the procrastination theme a bit, but anyways, was not very encouraging at all. Mind you, I have dealt with that Embassy on other occasions and the people I spoke with were very helpful. The change of name for my IRA account will be done in one fax and wont be an issue.

Now I just need to make Misty’s packages with her stuff, label it, put it in the car and drive it around until I actually stop at the post office, get out and mail it! Now, it’s about WINE’O'Clock ;)

A new Role Play Sim has started in Inworldz. It is run by friends of mine. Set in Medieval times, the beautiful sim has been decorated by the members of the role-playing group themselves. There is also a Google Group set up to post interactions, story lines and updates. If you are interested in learning more, visit the Google Group, or drop Velveeta Biedermann or Krsna Samsara an IM when you are Inworldz.

The story of the origin of Selcouth Manor as written By Krsna Samsara (Inworldz Name) and posted to the Selcouth Manor Google Group:

Selcouth:adj. Middle English, from Old English *seldcūth,* from *seldan*seldom + *cūth* known Strange, unusual, little known, mysterious, hidden, wonderous
Selcouth Manor: a fabled manor house perched on the southernmost border of England and Wales.

1415
The Stables were abuzz with excitement and the doors to the dairy were firmly shut against the noise as not to upset the cows. The clink of armor and stamp of horses echoed in the cold, dewy morning as the Lord of Selcouth Manor and his men readied to ride out and join the forces of under Henry V, to fight for King and country against France.

His three daughters stood close by, each one holding a precious family relic as the procession to the main road began.  The eldest held a hunting horn, bound with gold. The youngest carried a golden cup, encrusted with jewels. The middle daughter, brought by the lord from a far away land, held a dagger of fine workmanship and set at the hilt with a blood-red ruby. The few peasants and household staff followed solemnly behind the mounted men who followed the somber Lord and the three young ladies.

As they approached the boundaries of Selcouth land, a strange tingle of magic could be felt in the air. This was not strange to those who followed, for it was well-known that this was a magical place, and it was well accepted. The Lord raised a staying hand, and all who followed came to a halt. The three daughters approached him along with the surly gamekeeper, who carried the squirming body of a hare. The Lord snatched up the Hare by the ears and took the jeweled dagger. He deftly cut the small beast’s throat, and the cup-bearer brought her golden vessel to catch the blood. The gamekeeper retrieved the hare and stepped back into the watching crowd. The Lord took up the cup and the horn and then his deep voice boomed in the morning mist.

“We, your men, are away to war. Be kept safe until our return. The mists shall shroud you and keep you. Do well until they again part.”

The mounted men crossed the boundary, gathering behind the Lord. He then poured the blood out onto the ground at the place where Selcouth land came to an end. He muttered quiet, ancient words of magic, then blew the horn a resounding blast. The fog closed between them like a heavy curtain. The daughters stood for a moment, then retrieved each their item, and turned back toward the manor.

King Henry’s War came to an end, but the Lord and his men did not return to lift the enchantment from Selcouth Manor. His daughters dwell there still…The enchantment holds Selcouth fast in its grasp, and so, as time passes for the outside world, it moves not for those within the mist. The land exists in between our world and the one beyond, and as such… one may encounter all manner of folk. An occasional unwary traveller from our world has stumbled upon the place, but once the mists are parted, they can not be escaped, for the land appears to them as an island with impassable fog and waters at every side. Many are the mysteries that lie in this magical place.

RP areas:
The forest- complete with caves, waterfalls, and hidden things to discover
The orchard – a beautiful cherry orchard with wild lavender
The farm – crops of waving barley, a rustic barn, cows, geese, chickens, horses, and pigs. Be sure to visit the gamekeeper.

This hopefully will teach me not to play around before I have enough coffee…… This is the actual welcome area of the Selcouth Estate RP sim. Velveeta trusted me enough and let me decorate this area. I did that last night and everything was fine. This morning I wanted to change the picture on my online thingy on the  wall. Unfortunately, I missed the picture and slapped the snapshot on the wall. All I said was “oh Shit”. (Maybe I used another word I don’t remember). Kevin turned around and laughed.

Looking at the bright side, I did not delete anything. :) So now I have to wait for Velsie to get up and fix it. I did send her an offline message and all that stuff, but I figured it would be nice if she would learn about is through the blog… Classy eh? Kind of reminded me of another incident, where a friend of mine who shall remain nameless (hello Misty) deleted part of the shelter!

I went shopping

Not that it is great news to announce that I went shopping, but I thought I had to post pictures of these beautiful dresses.

Both of them are from Nix Clothing by Niki Zamani. The pictures are taken at “Selcouth Estate” a new RP sim that hopefully will open soon.

Dress “Lilith Gold”

Dress “Meg Green”

No worries, I wont blog about fashion as I am simply not good at that.  I will however share pictures of outfits I really like and mention designers.

Inworldz

Kevin and I have a friend who shall remain nameless (Misty). Anyways a few months ago, actually I want to say in March of 2010 she told us about Inworldz, well curious enough we were, and created an account to have a looksee. Due to having lots of stuff going in RL, Kevin and I just having gotten married and you know all that other jazz we really never logged in.

Just about a week ago, I decided to log back into that New World and was surprised of how much it has grown. My friend whose name shall not be named (Misty), and I think she owns half of the land in Inworldz, let us have a parcel. So I decided to cancel my premium account in SecondLife (something I should have done a loooong time ago) and decided to spend some money in Inworldz.  Needless to say, Gabriella Nordwind is a prim eater as well as a space user (lots of prims left) I just rented another parcel from the same friend who shall remain nameless (Misty).

So far what I can say about Inworldz is how friendly and helpful the people are. All in all, a completely different feel about it. Here a couple of pictures from our new parcel. Thank you Friend who shall remain nameless (Misty) for all your help!

Keep reading for the pics….. And don’t forget, you can click the pics for the full size versions. WARNING: The full size are 1980X1080 !!!

Loving Sushi

I love Sushi, I mean I really, really love Sushi.

Switzerland is not located on any ocean or sea. Ergo Sushi is hugely expensive here (as is all fish).

I have been introduced to Sushi by my lovely greatest friend Lisa in Las Vegas! (She said I could use her name). And oh, did we ever feast!

Today, I went with a friend from work (that loves Sushi as well) to a local Sushibar.

What a pleasure to see all these appetizing small cut portions of nicely displayed dishes! It is so hard to decide which one to pick. Unfortunately my favourite is Sashimi, the most expensive of all…….

But what I wanted to say, it was a great lunch and money well spent!

Just to give you guys/girls from the States an idea of prices here: CHF 62.oo = USD 62.30 (Damn the dollar is low) for lunch for 4 portions, and only one of them was Sashimi, and one small bottle of diet coke.

Moral of the Story? Oh, yes, there is a couple:

-Las Vegas is not close to any Ocean and or Sea….. (it was cheaper and the quality was great).

-Thank goodness, Kevin hates Sushi, otherwise we would be living in a cardboard box in a Street singing Kumbaya  (however you spell that) and hoping we get some coins.

End of Story.
